Sollentuna Centre was created according to the keywords “Beauty, Brains and Pleasure”, with the ambition to become Stockholm’s first design oriented shopping centre. In 2011 it was awarded first price in the International Council of Shopping Centers – Europe award, in the Extensions and Refurbishment class.
The extension, together with a renovation, has increased the area to 50 000m², and the number of parking lots to 1500. John R Johanson (architect at thorbjörnsson + edgren), was responsible for the design of the center. The shopping centre is divided into different themes and environments, which gives the visitor a rich experience and emphasizes the selection of shops. Rstudio has an on-going commission to refine the centre further. The ambition is to be the most innovative shopping centre in the Stockholm region.
